from Songs of the Open Road
Afoot and lighthearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.
...........................................
From this hour, freedom!
From this hour I ordain myself loos'd of limits and imaginary lines,
Going where I list, my own master, total and absolute,
Listening to others, and considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the hold that would hold me.

thoughts - upon arrival
We arrive in the evening so will probably go straight to our Hotel where - depending upon our energy and spirits - we will find a spot to have a late night snack and perhaps do a bit of exploring.
If we are up early on Thursday morning, we will head to the Red Fort

and the Jama-Masjid Mosque
Of course eating and shopping are of great interest so we might spend the
afternoon in the Kinari Bazaar or the Tibetan Market at Majnu ka Tila
and begin our evening with the sunset at Humayun's Tomb.

Fortunately we will be in Delhi for a few days so we should find time to take in the contemporary art scene through visiting galleries and at some point enjoy some lazy time in the Lohdi Gardens.
